BRADBOURNE RDA’s NEW CLUBHOUSE
1st JUNE 2011
After years of planning and fundraising, Bradbourne RDA’s new clubhouse finally arrived on 1st June 2011.
The two halves of the building made their way down from Derbyshire under escort the previous day and spent the night at the Clacket Lane service station on the M25 before being brought to Bradbourne early the following morning. The convoy had to take a circuitous route through the town in order to avoid the notorious low railway bridge on Bradbourne Vale Road but other than that the delivery worked like clockwork and by mid-morning the two halves of the building had been carefully placed on their base ready for connection.
The equipping of the clubhouse has been funded by a £10,000 grant from the National
Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund and we should like to acknowledge all the generous
donations we have received for this project which have enabled us to purchase a fantastic
new clubhouse and equip it.
Special mention should go to:
Bailey Thomas Charitable Trust
Bernard Sunley Charitable Trust
Colyer Fergusson Charitable Trust
Cory Environmental Trust
Henry Smith Charitable Trust
Rooney Foundation
The Wolfson Foundation
Wooden Spoon Society
National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund
So our sad old clubhouse has gone . . .
